CJ Fallowfield - Torn

Torn One will break her trust - One will break her heart - One will kill for her.

When Sky’s parents moved from San Francisco to Boulder City in Nevada, she thought her life was over, until she met the Hudson boys. Two years older than her, tattooed bad boy Nate was confident, cocky, good looking, and a straight talker. He was the unattainable guy that all the girls wanted, but the one their fathers warned them to steer clear of. Josh had all of his brother’s looks, but he was the sweet charmer your mother would beg you to marry. Their cousin Billy lacked the brothers’ good looks, so relied on his quick wit to attract the girls.

When all three of them set their sights on Sky, they became competitive, and cracks in their close bond began to form.

Torn between her loyalty to all three, and feelings for one, Sky was faced with a dilemma.

When she made her decision, she had no idea that her choice would set them all on a path that would tear the group apart.

Torn is an Amazon erotic romance, and adult fiction, international bestseller. It's a standalone new adult erotic romance novel, which is heavy on the angst. A box of tissues is likely to be required.

Wow. Just wow. Once again CJ has surpassed my expectations. I have read a few of her stories now and this one is different to the others, it has a different kind of feel. (Though I love how her stories all feature The Domville hotels!).

Sky is a new girl in town and whilst getting a feel for the place before she starts Uni, she gets a puncture on her bicycle and while looking for somewhere to get it fixed, rolls in on Nate Hudson, the bad boy with a reputation in town. The trouble of love really begins though when she also bumps into his younger brother (Josh) and their cousin (Billy) across the road. Sky is the girl they all want and will stop at nothing to win her...

------------------------------
Nate Hudson was the kind of guy who'd break my heart, I was sure of it.
------------------------------

The first 30% or so of the story dealt with this kind of love triangle and it was a little dragging, but after that, wow, it was explosive and my tears started rolling (I did cry more than once - that doesn't often happen!).

I had my doubts about Billy - I was mainly rooting for Josh and Nate and I was torn between them, never mind Sky being so! All the feels!

------------------------------
Instead of feeling weary and tired all of the time, it was like I'd had new life breathed into me.
------------------------------

Between the group, they go through so much drama, enough to tear them all apart. But they keep fighting. Right until the end in the worst way possible...

I love the angst we get from CJ in her stories and this was the most I have felt in one of hers so far. The first third of the book was a little slow compared to usual, but after that I was truly hooked.

------------------------------
My days of being torn were well and truly behind me.
------------------------------

A brilliant 4.5* star must read.

Torn....this book had me torn!!! I've got to say it's got to be the first book of CJ's that I've struggled with. But by no means did I not enjoy it.

The new "girl next door" Sky Torres is the new girl in town, having moved to Nevada, (Boulder City) she was about to meet the notorious Hudson boys....and jeez what a journey she was about to take with them all.

We have Josh, the good guy, struggling to live in (or out!) of his brothers shadows.

Billy...the boy that Sky would only feel was her "very platonic friend, pure and simple".

And the one and only, first ever guy she meets...Nate. A mechanic and aspiring baseball player. He has a bright future ahead of him, despite his reputation for being a bit of a player in the town. This doesn't stop stop ogling the man who fixed her bike that first day in town. And let's face it...I think any girl would!

------------------------------
A girl like me, shy and bookish, had no chance with a guy like him. But it sure was going to be fun imagining.

------------------------------

The first forty percent definitely wasn't as I had hoped. It was a little predictable and "will she/won't she" and I just wanted the characters to get their HEA. But Sky and her innocence was endearing. Her values and relationships were what we can all hope for young girls. Her strong relationship with her family and friends warmed my heart.

------------------------------
I'd seen other girls give away their affections so easily, like the very act of choosing to share your emotions and your heart with someone was worthless. It wasn't to me. It was everything. I wanted that moment I did to mean something, to be personal.

------------------------------

The devastation the Hudson boys face is unimaginable. The journeys the boys all take all link back to Sky and she's always there for them. Even in their darkest hour....and each of the boys have them!

A read that took me a while to "feel" but once I did, the story flowed. Another brilliant read, but for me had a slower start than I would have liked. A stunning cover though and most definitely worth a read.
